Teach-a-Teacher (TAT) Programme

About the Programme
  • TAT addresses the critical shortage of qualified ECD practitioners. All our students are recruited for their demonstrated passion for children and education.
  • TAT addresses youth unemployment by providing a year of funded education with valuable work experience to deserving unemployed South Africans who cannot afford to study.
  • Corporates need a high impact, sustainable Skills solution for unemployed people that fits their transformation goals. TAT learners are young, unemployed, black South Africans as defined by the Amended B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice.

The way it works
  • The LLC Academy recruits unemployed people who are enrolled on a one year programme.
  • TAT learners access NQF level ECD training through accredited training providers who provide part time, distance learning programmes.
  • The learners are placed in schools to work as teacher assistants for the year for the practical requirement of their qualification.
  • The LLC Academy provides coaching and support to learners to develop them holistically.

Who benefits?
  • Our Corporate partners who positively impact youth unemployment and the education crisis facing South Africa, while scoring points on their B-BBEE scorecard.
  • TAT students access an NQF level qualification, are placed in a supportive host school for valuable work experience and receive a monthly stipend over a 12-month period. As a result of their coaching and life skills support, they exit the programme more likely to become employed or access further training.
  • TAT host schools benefit from a high-quality teacher assistant, at no extra cost, for a period of 1 year. On successful completion of the programme, they have first opportunity to permanently employ the graduate.
